The Restless Forest

Location: City Centre

Date: October 2015

Our Role: Access to various sites and negotiations with several landowners

The Restless Forest was a moveable garden made up of plants native to Christchurch. The forest began its journey at Spark Park, 91 Hereford Street, made a home in Cathedral Square and then moved to 166 Armagh St.

The Restless Forest aimed at telling a story of what remained of the natural world in Christchurch. It was a collaboration between Greening the Rubble and the Department of Conservation.

The Restless Forest was designed to be mobile, educational and interactive. Each time the forest moves, a new story is written about the journey. There are also downloadable colouring pages to accompany each chapter, and a collectible sticker will be hidden in a geocache within the forest garden.
