'Te Puna Auaha', meaning the spring/pool of creativity/innovation, is a makerspace for Lyttelton providing the community with a place in which people with shared interests can gather to work on projects while sharing ideas, equipment, and knowledge. It is intended to be a community shed (like a Menz Shed) but accessible to everyone.
LiVS worked with Te Puna Auaha and helped find their initial site when they were just starting out. As they’ve grown it was clear they would need a bigger space! LiVS supported negotiations and the arrangement of a licence agreement with Lyttelton Port Company for a space on Norwich Street.
