Satori Mayell Art in the Incubator

Location: 110 Cashel Street, Central City

Date: April 1 - 15

Our Role: Site Brokers

Satori Mayell is an artist and naturalist born and raised in Ōtautahi, Christchurch. She has worked in a variety of outdoor roles centered around conservation and education, and uses her art to capture experiences of the wildlife and vibrant native ecosystems she spends time in.

She works primarily with wool, using needlefelting and a variety of mixed-media techniques to create incredibly realistic sculptures that inspire admiration and care for our taonga species.

Satori is moving into the Incubator space having just returned from her inspiring Summer adventures; which included running her second ever solo exhibition down in the Catlins, and a life-changing trip to the Subantarctic Islands on a scholarship for her art and advocation.

Come and find a huge range of Satori's works at the LiVS Incubator at 110 Cashel Street until April 15th; from small hanging ornaments and complex mobiles depicting a huge range of both iconic and obscure native animals, to large wall-mounted pieces with perching birds so realistic they look ready to take flight!

Satori will be working on various paintings and sculptures of the Subantarctic species she encountered, and is always keen to talk about her adventures.
