Placemaking in a Built City
Following the earthquakes, Ōtautahi became known for temporary urbanism, creative experimentation and community-led placemaking. As the city has rebuilt, the context has changed – so what does placemaking look like now, and what role can it play in shaping this chapter and the future of our city?LiVS, in partnership with Placemaking Aotearoa, invites you to an afternoon of talks, provocations and conversation exploring where we’ve come from, where we are now, and what comes next.
We’ll hear different perspectives on what it feels like to live, create and make things happen in Ōtautahi today, explore projects and ideas already shaping the city, and come together to discuss what we want more of in the future.
Expect short talks, a facilitated panel, table conversations, connection – and drinks and kai to finish.
Thursday 15 October 2026 | Ōtautahi Christchurch
12.30pm–5pm, followed by drinks and networking
