Faces From The Collection
In the immediate post-quake city, the Christchurch Art Gallery worked outside the Gallery to liven up places that had been emptied and dramatically changed
About the project

While the Gallery was closed for repairs, the Christchurch Art Gallery enlivened places that had been emptied and dramatically changed. Across our altered cityscape, portraits from CAG's collection were selected to appear in vacant lots, on surviving buildings and newly exposed walls.

Good art makes an immediate and important impact as part of the cultural life of this city and of New Zealand.
