An epic art and lighting installation in the Central City
About the project

Dahlias was submitted to the Council’s Light up the City design competition in 2019. Although the submission didn’t meet the contest criteria regarding size, it still aligned with the overall objectives of creating a vibrant central city and contributing to a unique identity so CCC decided to pursue it as a sperate project.

The flowers – lit with pink and purple LEDs – have been crafted by Frontal Lobe (a local design company) from recycled and sustainably sourced materials, supporting a reflective space designed to foster hope in the community.

CCC had a site in mind when they contacted us to licence a space for the project. We worked with the landowner of 662 Colombo Street and established an arrangement to see the project installed in late 2019.

Licensor of the land.
