The Arts Centre
A Success! From temporary licence to permanent lease
About the project

LiVS established an agreement with the Arts Centre in late 2017 to help them fill a vacant space in the old Boy's High Building. The earthquakes caused significant damage to the 23 buildings that make up the Arts Centre. Restoration is being completed in a staged manner and more than half the site has now re-opened to the public.
LiVS took on a licence for a vacant space within the newly reopened old Boys High building. We paid for the space and offered it to start-ups and community groups for a subsidised rate.
LiVS was able to provide use of this space to several creatives over the course of a year. One of the groups who used the space seized the opportunity to grow their operations in the Central City. They were so successful that they were then able to take on a permanent lease directly with the Arts Centre and remain there to this date.
