Community Education Container
Date: April 2023
Our Role: LiVS Incubator Project
By bringing together the knowledge and resources of 18 ACE providers, we were able to offer a diverse range of free activities, catering to people of all ages and backgrounds.
Visitors to the Community Education Container could participate in many activities such as thought-provoking book discussions, join several harmonious choir performances, learn and communicate through NZ Sign Language, explore the art of origami, browse the treasures of the pop-up op-shop, try out 3d printing and find out about the wide range of education on offer in our city. Sing-alongs filled the air with joyous melodies, while Zentangle mindfulness art provided a therapeutic escape.
The Community Education Container was a fun-filled adventure that left lasting memories and inspired a passion for continued growth and life-long learning.
By leveraging each other's strengths, expertise, and perspectives, we created a fertile ground for better outcomes. We extend our deepest gratitude to Life in Vacant Spaces Incubator and the following ACE Providers, who played a crucial role in making this event a resounding success:
Ara Computing for free
Book Discussion Scheme
Canterbury Workers Educational Association
Christchurch City Libraries
English Language Partners
Hagley Adult Literacy Centre
Network Waitangi Ōtautahi
Remix Sustainability Education
Richmond Community Garden
Te Wananga o Aotearoa
The Muse Community Music Trust
We are so lucky to have such a strong collection of organisations offering educational opportunities here. Together, we can inspire growth, empower individuals, and create new opportunities for the people of Ōtautahi. Our takeover of the LIVS Container helped us showcase this buzzing and vibrant adult learning community.
