Our Role: LiVS supported the new landowners to enable activities to continue

 During a stage of development for this site, Formerly the Central New Brighton School, LiVS was given a licence to help support the activities continue onsite.

The Ministry of Education approved its temporary use for community and artistic purposes and Renew opened The Old School Te Kura Tawhito in September 2017. The Christchurch Circus Trust and ECSR Ltd had been using the Roy Stokes Hall and the outdoor play areas respectively before the school closed and continue to do so.

The site was host to a wonderful array of community groups, artists, and health and wellbeing practitioners and offers a diverse range of activities, larger events and classes to the community.
