Roller Restart

100 Peterborough St

Roller Restart is a group of people who love skating in all its forms - roller, inline, boarding, ice.  Despite there being a large skate community in town, both sporting and social, there hasn't been a roller rink in yeras.  Their outdoor rink is a space for the skate community, built by the skate community, and is currently used for roller discos, roller derby, hockey, and free for any other bookings.

LIVS' role:

Site access, professional connections

About this project

The rink was built  by a team of volunteers over a two-month period between in the spring of 2013.  Led by Bebe Frayle, the group nailed the last piece of ply in November, and since then have been doing ongoing upgrades.  The last piece in the puzzle was getting sides for the rink so they could host kid-safe skate events and have hockey practices without chasing after pucks lost in rubble.
