Having evolved from FESTA (The Festival of Transitional Architecture), Te Pūtahi is focused on the current rebuild and on-going renewal of Christchurch for the long term. Members from Christchurch’s creative community have come together to use their wealth of experience in how to creatively engage a wide range of stakeholders and users with the making of a better city.
People Building Better Cities documents community-driven projects that share a common goal: the promotion of inclusive urbanization to improve the lives of the urban poor through innovations in participatory design and planning. In addition to the regular exhibition opening hours, Te Pūtahi hosted a series of public talks and workshops, creating space for people to learn and develop as citizens, neighbours and professionals.
